You found me - Talya Johnson (my friends call me Tali) :) Here you will find my ramblings and thoughts about the creative process, life in general, and how painting and searching for beauty gives me the hope. The visible magnitude of ancient forces juxtaposed against the tamed vineyards and railroad tracks below seemed to strangely belong together. [...]
It was surprising how quickly the painting came together. The discomfort from painting in the midday sun encouraged my swiftness, no doubt. Once I captured her stance I felt nothing else mattered, and left the rest of the painting vague and undefined. A lovely artist, on a hot day, painting in her white dress, white shawl to protect herself from the sun, and signature dark wide brimmed hat; painting amongst the bees and lavender. I am not aware when I developed a love for cemeteries. Perhaps it is due to my early proximity to a beautiful cemetery close to the banks of the Jordan in my childhood Kibbutz Deganya Aleph. Or it could be from my insatiable interest and work in genealogy and family history. [...]
