Helen: standing nude

I consider painting and drawing from a live model an extraordinarily privileged experience. Modeling is an art form in and of itself. Trust and collaboration is required for the painter and the model to jointly create something beautiful—something meaningful—a work of art that mirrors its creators.

This painting's name is devired from the mythological Helen of Troy. The opposing interpretations of her character brought to mind many of the contradictions inherent in being a beautiful woman.
